Field: Population Genetics & Molecular Evolutionary Genetics

Research Interest: The evolution of sexual proportion is a major biological phenomenon about which there are several unanswered questions. We are using the sex-ratio meiotic drive system of Drosophila mediopunctata as an experimental model to study three of these questions: Fisher's Principle and the commonness of the 1:1 sexual proportions; the evolutionary genetics of Y-linked suppressors of meiotic drive; and the population genetics of limit cycles.
